Thank you to the Maddie's Fund for Lunito's happy story!

From euthanasia list to a loving forever home, Lunito has a new lease on life thanks to Maddie's Fund! Through a grant from Maddie's Fund for veterinary care and other needed funds, Infinite Hope was able to cover the cost of leg surgery for a sweet stray cat named Lunito from the at-risk list of the Brooklyn ACC. He had a noticeable limp and an irregular gait, and the vet at the ACC indicated that surgery or amputation of his left hind leg would likely be needed.

Once in Infinite Hope's care and upon further vetting, it was discovered that Lunito had previously badly fractured his left femoral neck and needed FHO (femoral head ostectomy) surgery to alleviate his pain. Lunito underwent surgery at Faithful Friends clinic, one of Infinite Hope's partner vets, and spent several weeks rehabilitating in foster care, before being adopted into a wonderful forever home. His adopter recently had this to say of Lunito (now named Rigby):  "Lunito is doing great! I eventually decided to rename him Rigby. His hair is almost totally full length now, and his leg has healed perfectly so I almost totally forget about his surgery.  He spends most of his time either curled up on my bed, sunning/watching people out the window, or trying to get me to pay attention to him. He continues to be the sweetest and friendliest cat I've ever seen, and I've even got him trained to respond to his name. Thanks again!"
