"My family and I can't say enough wonderful things about Infinite Hope and their volunteers. Infinite Hope responded immediately to our request for help, and then followed up quickly by trapping/neutering not only our colony but an additional 8 cats in our neighborhood. All cats have been living peacefully and healthfully ever since, much to our delight (and our neighbors'). We are truly forever grateful!"
We like to work with people who are caretaking for a colony and can contribute to the project in some way. All of our board members are certified and we can also bring in other volunteers, as well as equipment for TNR projects. We use the ASPCA spay/neuter services for the vast majority of our TNR'd cats. In some cases a feral cat needs more extensive veterinary care, in which case we provide care through one of partner veterinary clinics.
Many colony care-takers that we have worked with get TNR certified by taking a free workshop to learn more about trapping, caring for cats before/after surgery, and talking with neighbors about feral cats and TNR. There are many pieces to a successful TNR project, and help is always needed not just for trapping, but also transportation, and recovery space for cats after surgery.
In the past two years we have focused in certain areas of Midwood, Brooklyn and have TNR'd or removed over 100 cats in this neighborhood.
We have worked on both small-scale and larger scale projects in other Brooklyn neighborhoods, including:
- Bath Beach
- Bed Stuy
- Boerum Hill
- Crown Heights
- Gowanus
- Park Slope
- Prospect Heights
We are always looking for volunteers to help increase our capacity to do TNR projects. Please let us know if you are interested in helping with trapping, transport, or recovery space for cats (before and after surgery).
